New website for the council
Published: Tuesday 15 September 2026
A new website to help everyone in South Lanarkshire continue to engage digitally with their local council is now available.
The project has involved a comprehensive review and refresh of website content, alongside the introduction of a new platform that offers improved accessibility, navigation, search functionality and overall user experience.
The new website will continue to be available through the existing web address: www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk.
The council is also one of the first in Scotland to use an enhanced search tool.
It means users should think about a question they would like answered – for example ‘when will my bins be emptied’ rather than just using keywords.
This will mean a more comprehensive answer and result in users being able to navigate to the correct page in fewer clicks.
Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Resources, Jackie Taylor, said: “The new website is an important step forward in ensuring that people can quickly and easily find the information they need, whenever they need it.
“It has been designed to make it easier for residents, visitors and businesses to access information and services.
“We believe it offers a more modern, user-friendly experience and reflects our commitment to improving how we connect with our communities online."
